Mario Abela joined as Research Director in order for EFRAG to strengthen the early stage proactive work.

Mario will lead and direct EFRAG’s early stage proactive work. EFRAG is working in partnership with European National Standard Setters on this proactive work, with the aim of contributing to and influencing early thinking on significant financial reporting issues. The expected output of this proactive work includes issuing discussion papers and other documents to provide thought leadership in Europe and to stimulate debate.

The Research Director is part of the EFRAG management team.
