MIA Biennial Conference 2012 - Programme

MIA Biennial Conference 2012

This year the Malta Institute of Accountants will be holding its seventh biennial conference “Our Institute beyond tomorrow - Charting a roadmap for a changing profession” on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November. We have recently finalised the conference programme and preparations are ongoing to ensure that we deliver a high quality event which the numerous participants at the conference have come to expect from the Institute.

This year’s event will focus on the need for the profession’s rebranding in the light of the regulatory upheavals that it is being subjected to. Being an integral part of the Institute’s future strategy of transformation and evolution, the conference will also review the Institute’s raison d’être, its objectives, governance and value proposition to its members in a bid to remain relevant in such a fast changing world.

The conference will discuss the varied roles that professional accountants are called upon to fulfil and will explore issues that affect the continued relevance of the accountant in the coming years by examining local and global trends affecting members in daily work, enlist opinions on how these trends will impact present and future members in the years ahead, and determine how the Maltese profession could best meet its challenges and leverage opportunities.

The Institute has today issued the conference programme and has set up a dedicated web page on its website with relevant details, including booking and payment information. The themes selected for the six sessions making up the conference programme, coupled with the impressive line-up of 35 speakers and panelists, are such that participants may rest assured that the event will be of a very high level. A more detailed programme containing a list of speakers and panelists will be made available shortly.

Please visit the conference webpage for more information. Individual bookings can be made either online or via a registration formParticipants can benefit from early bird discounts until 29 October 2012.
