IESBA Proposes Change to Code of Ethics Definition of Those Charged with Governance: The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) has released for public exposure a Proposed Change to the Definition of “Those Charged with Governance” in the IESBA Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (the Code). View Comments on the Exposure Draft are welcome from all stakeholders by 31 October 2012.
 
Review of IFRS 8: The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) began the public part of its review of IFRS 8 Operating Segments by publishing for comment a Request for Information on the effect of implementing the standard. The review seeks feedback on whether the standard is functioning as intended, as well as more practical information on the challenges and costs associated with implementing the standard. The Request for Information is open for comment until 16 November 2012. View

OECD releases reports on automatic exchange and tax confidentiality: Furthering its efforts to strengthen international tax co-operation, the OECD has issued two new reports on automatic exchange and tax confidentiality. The report on automatic exchange of information, view describes what automatic exchange of information is, how it works, where it stands and what challenges remain. The report on confidentiality of information exchanged, view sets out best practices related to the protection of information exchanged for tax purposes and provides practical guidance. 2nd UEAPME European SME Convention on 1 October 2012 - registrations are open: With the support of the European Commission, UEAPME will organise its 2nd “European SME Convention” in Brussels on 1 October 2012. 5th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility, 4 – 6 October 2012, Berlin:The Conference will focus on the future of CSR by exploring whether more collaboration between relevant global entities can bring more consistency across different institutions.
