Weekly update of EU Regulatory news for FEE Members
 
Integrated Reporting: The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) has published a summary of responses to its Discussion Paper “Towards Integrated Reporting – Communicating Value in the 21st Century” launched in September 2011. View FEE is supportive of the work of the IIRC and organised a roundtable debate on integrated reporting on 30 May 2012. More details including a document with key takeaways from the roundtable are available on the FEE website. View
 
European Commission presents the "services package": On 8 June 2012, the European Commission adopted the "services package", which sets out actions that the Commission is proposing to stimulate growth in the services sector. The package is made up of the Communication on the implementation of the Services Directive "A partnership for new growth in services 2012 – 2015" and accompanied by three Commission Staff Working Documents. 2011 IESBA Annual Report: The International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) has released its 2011 Annual Report “Ethics for the Global Accounting Profession—Building on the Groundwork”. The report describes the IESBA’s commitment to developing high-quality international ethics standards for the global accountancy profession as presented in the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants. IFAC urges G-20 to focus on global solutions to global issues, to create sustainability and growth: The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) presented recommendations for consideration at the G-20 Leaders’ Summit on 18-19 June, 2012 in Los Cabos, Mexico. These recommendations focus on actions aimed at promoting global sustainability and growth, and are directed towards several of the stated priorities of the Mexican presidency of the G-20. View

OECD updates Multi-Country Analysis of Existing Transfer Pricing Simplification Measures: The survey focused specifically on simplification measures that 41 OECD and non-OECD countries have adopted as part of their transfer pricing regimes. These include not only safe harbours but also measures such as less stringent documentation requirements, alleviated penalties, streamlined procedures, etc. View

Public Hearing on Improving access to finance for SMEs, 28 June 2012, Brussels: Access to finance is essential to enhance the competitiveness and growth potential of SMEs. In the context of the current crisis, it is increasingly difficult for such companies to access loans or venture capital. The public hearing will gather stakeholders from SMEs and the financial community to discuss these issues. View
