FEE further comments on EC proposal for the Accounting and Transparency Directives: FEE takes note of the ongoing debate in Parliament and Council and offers additional comments in particular on the EP Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) Draft Reports. View
 
IFAC Response to Eurostat Consultation on Use of IPSASs: The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) values the opportunity to comment on the public consultation paper issued by Eurostat on 15 February 2012, on the suitability of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSASs) for EU Member States. View. FEE is also preparing a response to the Eurostat consultation.
 
Combating tax fraud and tax evasion: Commissioner Šemeta addresses EP: On 18 April 2012, Commissioner for Taxation Algirdas Šemeta spoke at the European Parliament Plenary debate on the fight against tax fraud and tax evasion. View
 
Joint IASB/FASB progress report on convergence issued: The November 2011, G20 Declaration called on the IASB and the FASB to provide a progress report on their convergence activities, for consideration at the April 2012 meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors. The Declaration also called for the completion of the governance and strategy reviews. A joint IASB/FASB progress report describing these activities has now been issued via the Financial Stability Board. View
 
ESMA advises Commission on short-selling regulation: The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published its final advice on possible delegated acts concerning the Short-Selling Regulation. View
 
Ministers renew the mandate of the Financial Action Task Force (2012-2020): Ministers from Financial Action Task Force (FATF) member countries met in Washington DC on 20 April and agreed to extend the FATF mandate for another 8 years, continuing to safeguard the integrity of the international financial system. View

FEE holds an Event on Integrated Reporting on 30 May 2012: Integrated Reporting is seen as a major development in corporate reporting. Central to Integrated Reporting is the challenge facing organisations to create and sustain value in the short, medium and longer term. This event will provide an opportunity for key European stakeholders to understand and influence change. The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) will be present to provide delegates with a briefing and full update. For more details please access the programme. Networking for better CSR advice to SMEs: The EC will host a Networking Event for people who advise SMEs on CSR on the 12-13 June 2012 in Berlin. This international event, held in English, will bring together about 100 European experts and practitioners in the field, to actively engage in peer-to-peer learning and share best practices across Europe. View
