 Weekly Update Regulatory news for FEE Members
 
Auditor Independence: FEE has submitted its comments on the Discussion Paper “Enhancing Audit Quality: Canadian Perspectives – Auditor Independence” issued by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Canadian Public Accountability Board (“the Discussion Paper”). View
 
Education: FEE has submitted its comments to the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) on the Exposure Draft on the Proposed IES 8 “Professional Development for Engagement Partners Responsible for Audits of Financial Statements (Revised)". View
 
Audit Policy: The European Parliament Legal Affairs (JURI) Committee has released amendments to the Draft Report of Sajjad Karim on the proposed Statutory Audit Directive. View FEE is analysing these amendments.
 
IFRS: On 28 November 2012 the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) published, for public comment , proposals for limited changes to the classification and measurement requirements for financial instruments under IFRS 9: Financial Instruments. The Exposure Draft is open for comment until 28 March 2013. View
 
FTT: The European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee has issued amendments to the draft report of Anni Podimata on enhanced cooperation in the area of financial transaction tax. The subject is scheduled for debate in the European Parliament plenary on 11 December 2012, and vote on 12 December 2012. View
 
Public Sector: The OECD held its first Global Forum on Public Governance, view, on 21 November 2012, a platform for dialogue between the OECD and partner countries. Main topics were how to advance public sector innovation, productivity, transparency and improving service delivery. View
 
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): The European Commission published a report on “SME Participation in the Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) / 2007”, which reveals that EU spending to the benefit of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under FP7's Cooperation Programme is still on the rise, and has now exceeded 16%. View
 
Integrated Reporting: The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) has released a Prototype of the International Integrated Reporting Framework, view, demonstrating progress towards defining key concepts and principles that underpin Integrated Reporting, and support organisations’ ability to produce an integrated report. For further information see the press release. Next steps will be a formal consultation in April 2013, to be followed by the final Framework in December 2013. View
